Introduction

This June, Taasa Health and The Right Course are teaming up to bring you the First Annual Golf Fore Good charity tournament at Triggs Memorial Golf Course in Providence, Rhode Island.

The day is going to start at 12 noon – golfers will be able to check in and cast their 5 free raffle tickets for prizes that will be announced on our social media accounts (@taaasahealth and @therightcourse) leading up to our event!

We are excited for our participants to enjoy a fun day of golfing and raise money for both organizations in the process! You can find out more about each organization below.

Golfers are also encouraged to bring used clubs to donate to The Right Course

About the Cause – The Right Course:

Our mission is to supply kids in Rhode Island with free golf equipment including clubs, apparel, and accessories. Our goal of $20,000 this year will help to impact hundreds of youth golfers and teams as well as expand accessibility to the game of golf. The driving force behind The Right Course is the goal of increasing accessibility to the game of golf. We firmly believe that the gap between families who can afford equipment and those who can’t has been far too vast for far too long.

Equipment Donations: The Right Course strives to provide kids with the best possible equipment, including but not limited to used clubs from our generous donors. In our first two months of operation we have received over 60 clubs, 6 bags, 200 golf balls and two practice clubs. Our team will sort, refurbish and distribute the equipment we receive to give kids the best chance of success on the course.

About the Cause – Taasa Health:

Taasa’s goal for this year is to raise $30,000 to provide our Kalungu medical staff in rural Uganda with complementary housing, a full kitchen, and daily meals. Taasa Health strives to provide the highest quality medical care to our patients, which means we need to take great care of our medical staff. Taasa provides benefits for our employees including food and rent to make sure they can take home as much of their salary as possible to care for their families.

Housing: Our staff currently lives in rental homes in a village near our newly constructed clinic. We want to build housing for our clinicians and other staff so they can live on-site at the clinic’s 12-acre property with their families. This separate facility will allow us to hire additional staff over time (nurses, lab technicians, receptionists) and provide them with comfortable, private accommodations for their personal life. Staff housing will also ensure that clinicians are on-site for medical emergencies around the clock.

Meals: We intend to build a kitchen for the clinic and staff on the property. This will allow our staff to prepare fresh daily meals for any malnourished patients and for our team. Donations will go towards constructing the kitchen facility and stocking it with food for the coming months. Looking towards the long term, we are clearing agricultural fields to plant crops for the clinic and neighboring community.

Through your support for Team Taasa, we hope to break ground on staff housing and a kitchen and start providing daily meals to our staff by the end of 2023!
