After numerous discussions within our organization, we have ultimately decided to postpone the fundraiser that was scheduled to occur at Bowery Electric – NYC on March 14, 2020.
Numerous external factors contributed to the difficult decision and cancellation. Most notably and recently, the State of New York’s declaration of emergency and the increasing number of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
While every dollar that Taasa receives goes towards providing basic healthcare to those with greatest need, we deem it irresponsible to ask supporters in the New York area to potentially put themselves and those they come into contact with at risk of contracting the virus. Taasa encourages our supporters to take the proper precautions to prevent the further spread of the virus.
Taasa plans to reassess the ability to hold another fundraiser in the coming weeks as the situation in the New York area develops. We hope you all stay healthy, and we look forward to working together in the future to provide the greatest impact possible for the hundreds of people who rely on Taasa Clinic for basic healthcare needs.
